Last updated: September 29, 2026. This page explains how to delete your Joura data. Joura works with no account and no login. If you chose to save an account, section 3 below explains how to delete it. Otherwise, deleting your data is about clearing what is on your device and, if you wish, the small amount of pseudonymous data on our side. See our Privacy Policy and EU / UK Privacy Notice for the full picture.
1. Your on-device information
Your child's name, the moments you write, and the journal Joura builds live in an encrypted database on your own device. They are sent to us only if you choose to send something (like feedback or a moment you send so we can add a tip), and we cannot read what stays on your device. You can remove this data yourself at any time:
In the app
Open Joura, go to Settings, and use the delete option to remove your information. This clears what is stored on your device.
Or by uninstalling
Removing the Joura app from your phone also removes the data stored on it.
Want a copy first? Joura's Settings include a "Download my data" option so you can export your information before deleting it.
2. The data on our side
The information that leaves your phone is tied to a random identifier rather than your name or email (and to your account, if you saved one). It never includes the moments you keep on your phone. It can include: structural usage and crash data; the app events and your phone's advertising ID we share with Meta and TikTok to measure our ads (see the Privacy Policy); anything you explicitly chose to send us (feedback text, poll answers, a moment you sent so we could add a tip, an optional email, an onboarding note, or a one-tap error report); and, if you subscribe, your trial and subscription records.
To have us delete this, email support@heyjoura.com and ask us to delete your data. If you didn't save an account, please send your request from the email address you gave us (if any), or include the "anonymous ID" shown in the app's Settings so we can find your records. We will delete the data we hold for you and confirm, normally within 30 days. Meta and TikTok keep advertising data under their own policies; you can reset your phone's advertising ID in its settings.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google. Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription; manage or cancel that in your app-store account (see Support). App-store purchase records are kept by the store under its own policy.
3. If you saved an account
In the app
Open Joura, go to Settings, tap your account at the top, then Delete my account. This deletes your account and what we hold for it on our side (your email and sign-in, the usage data stored with us, feedback, poll answers, any moments you sent us, and your email sign-ups), then clears this phone. You need to be online. If you're not, nothing is deleted and the app tells you.
Without the app
Email support@heyjoura.com from your account's email address and ask us to delete your account. We'll delete it and the data tied to it and confirm, normally within 30 days.
What's kept: Apple and Google keep their own purchase records, and our subscription provider keeps your subscription record for tax and accounting (see the Privacy Policy's Retention section). Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in your app-store account. Our analytics provider may keep a copy of your usage data for its normal retention period (see the Privacy Policy's Retention section), and copies of feedback, poll totals or moments you sent us that were already posted to our team's internal feedback channel may remain there.
4. Questions
